Last month, RISMedia honored more than 230 real estate professionals as RISMedia's 2019 Real Estate Newsmakers. Each of these individuals—separated into eight categories—was either nominated by RISMedia readers or chosen by the publication’s editors.
These folks made newsworthy contributions within their own communities and/or the housing industry as a whole. Here, we highlight several honorees who were chosen as Newsmakers in the Crusaders category:
Ennis Antoine
Associate Broker, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers
Beginning his career in New Orleans, Ennis Antoine has served in leadership roles in both state and national real estate organizations. He’s also a certified real estate instructor and teaches a sales pre-license course to educate new agents and set them on a path to success.
“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity and responsibility to give something back by becoming more,” he says.
Isatou Ceesay
Broker, isatouproperties, CENTURY 21 Real Estate Center
For Isatou Ceesay, a career in real estate came naturally. She helped people in her community find homes even before she obtained a real estate license. In her current role, Ceesay works hard to guide clients through the real estate process, regardless of the price of the property or the client’s income. She's also an advocate for first-time homebuyers.
“In the coming years, I hope to continue growing and progressing in my career,” Ceesay says.
Bo Menkiti
Founder & CEO, The Menkiti Group | Keller Williams Capital Properties
Under Bo Menkiti’s leadership, The Menkiti Group and KWCP have received numerous awards for innovation, entrepreneurship, record growth, industry performance and overall achievement. However, most importantly, Menkiti is committed to promoting the greater good.
“For me, and for our companies, we define success and making news through impact. That means that we have harnessed the power of business to solve our community’s most pressing social needs,” he says.
Daisy Lopez-Cid
Broker/Owner, RE/MAX Premier Properties
Earlier this year, the Osceola County Association of REALTORS® named Daisy Lopez-Cid Humanitarian of the Year for her efforts to help those devastated by Hurricane Maria. She spent two weeks in Puerto Rico going door to door distributing food, water, medication, clothing and other essentials to residents in need.
"I do what I do because I want to do it," Lopez-Cid says. "I didn't have this growing up, and I just want to pay it forward."
Mike Reagan
Senior Vice President, Global Alliances, RE/MAX, LLC
As SVP of Global Alliances, Mike Reagan has devoted much of his time at RE/MAX to philanthropic endeavors. He has driven the company's 26-year partnership with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and has worked with NAHREP, AREAA and NAGLREP to raise millions for children.
"The more you give, the more you get," he says. "I've seen it firsthand, especially in the generosity of RE/MAX agents who help millions of kids each year through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals."
