As CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate, Vince Leisey leads an organization that is on the cutting edge of a shifting real estate industry. He encourages an attitude of abundance that creates a culture that attracts all generations.
Last year, BHHS Ambassador Real Estate began hosting Supercar Saturday in the brokerage’s parking lot on the second Saturday of every month. The free event, which had outgrown its former home at the local Bentley dealership, attracts many wealthy car owners that are also BHHS clients.
Here, Leisey discusses the origins of Supercar Saturday and how the outdoor event, held in a parking lot where it’s easy to socially distance, has taken off in the midst of the pandemic:
What was the impetus for the event?
A local bank ran a "cars and coffee" event on Saturday mornings for 4-5 years before Bentley Omaha took it over. Their lot wasn’t as big as ours, so one of our agents had the idea to use our parking lot for the event. I’d been attending it and thought it was a cool event. There are high-end cars there and we dominate the upper end executive market. It seemed like the perfect opportunity for our agents to invite their database here. Last year was the first time we held the event in our lot.
How did you promote it?
100% of the promotion for Supercar Saturday is done through social media. We have a Facebook page that is dedicated to the event and our marketing team runs that. We also do an email blast before each event.
Why do you think it was so popular?
I think it’s two things: A lot of people love cars, especially supercars and classic cars. And people also just want to get out. Some 41% of people are experiencing depression during the pandemic and this event gives you a great reason to leave your house.
How does it help business?
I can tell you that I have a number of agents that utilize the event as a way to reach out to clients. Supercar Saturday has given our brokerage an increase in exposure and we always want our agents to stay connected.
How did it specifically help position the firm with luxury clientele?
We do the majority in our market already; close to 60%. The BHHS name and these upper-end clients lineup really well. Many people who bring their cars are already our clients. There’s no cost to anyone to attend or show their car. We provide tons of refreshments from Costco. Also, we made t-shirts for this event with our branding on them and we’ve sold hundreds of those.
