Jennifer Lawrence!
The “Joy” actress, christened “too cool to be America’s sweetheart,” took home this year’s Oscar for Best Real Estate Client, voted by members of the real estate industry as the nominee they’d most like to help buy or sell a home in RISMedia’s 2nd Annual Academy Awards of Real Estate.
“Absolutely Jennifer Lawrence!” said Nancy Bruner, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “She’d be fun to work with.”
“Seems to be an exceptionally nice person,” said Mike Dianda, Latter & Blum Inc. REALTORS®.
“Jennifer Lawrence seems like such a fun girl!” said Charlotte Ferguson, RE/MAX Solid Gold Realty. “It would be so much fun showing her houses!”
Lawrence purchased an $8.225 million Beverly Hills hideaway in 2014. The 5,500-square-foot home, previously owned by Jessica Simpson, and earlier, Ellen Degeneres, has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, a koi pond, a lap pool and a stone courtyard.
Lawrence narrowly beat out Matt Damon (“The Martian”), who received hometown votes from several Beantown sports fans, as well as standing ovations from REALTORS® praising his laid-back personality.
“As a fellow Boston sports team fan…and let’s face it, he survived an amazing number of days without food supplies on Mars,” said Mark Slade, Keller Williams Mid-Town Direct Realty.
“I would like to help Matt Damon,” said Barbara Zeitz, Long & Foster Real Estate. “Maybe I could find him another zoo.”
“He seems like he would be down-to-earth,” said Maggie Blondis, Dream Town Realty. “If I’m right about him, I would feel comfortable dealing with him in a business relationship.”
Damon picked up a Pacific Palisades mansion for $15 million in 2012. Crowned the “best house in Pacific Palisades,” the home has seven bedrooms, a five-car garage, 35-foot mahogany ceilings, retractable glass walls and a gym.
Votes also poured in for Best Actor winner Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Revenant”), whose portfolio includes a standard-for-celebrity Palm Springs spread and a New York City wellness apartment complete with purified air and a vitamin C shower.
“A man of distinction needs a home of eclectic touches and design,” said Maggie Ann Burnette, Champion Realty, Inc. “I would love the challenge.”
