    I suppose working with a real estate agent requires bigger budget – you will have to pay the agent, so…

      Andrea:
      I am an agent in Colorado and when I am working with a buyer, they do not pay me any money at all – I take the co-op commission that is offered by the seller to the buyer agent.

      The buyer has someone represent them and they don’t have to pay, so yes – this does save money for them.

    A major misconception by many first time home buyers is that if they work with an agent to help them find and purchase a home, they have to pay that agent’s commission. What they don’t understand is that the buyer’s agent, the agent representing the buyer in a purchase transaction, gets paid their commission from the seller’s broker, so essentially a buyer works with their agent for free.
