This past year, each individual honored as one of RISMedia's 2019 Real Estate Newsmakers made headlines in his or her own way. Whether it was through charitable work or notable growth, each honoree made a positive impact in the real estate industry.
Here, we highlight a few who were chosen as Newsmakers in the Inspirations category:
In the late 1970's, Mischa Angel quickly became a top producer and has faithfully served the Shreveport-Bossier City, La., area ever since—selling over 6,000 homes in that time. Many of Angel's clients have stayed with her for the past 41 years because of her team’s commitment to providing excellent service.
Tom DeWine, CEO & President at ERA Colonial Real Estate
Tom DeWine joined ERA in 2005 after a decade in medical and surgical device sales. His brokerage ranked as a Top 15 ERA company nationally with four offices in Texas, and in 2017, the company closed 2,603 units. His goals are to grow his company to between 250-300 agents and continue his extensive charity work.
"The Houston Food Bank is such a local and longstanding group, and I wanted to make sure we focused on something that was very local," DeWine said during a fundraising initiative.
DeLisa "Dee" Rose is broker/owner of RE/MAX Ambassadors in Richardson, Texas has 15-plus years of experience in real estate, and is a certified instructor by the Texas Real Estate Commission. In an answer to a call-out by Oprah Winfrey, Rose donated $20,000 to Minnie's Food Pantry, a 100-percent community-funded local pantry, last year.
"No charitable organization should ever struggle while simply trying to ensure all people have food, housing and safety," she says.

She has found success by building client relationships that have enhanced her referral base.
"If you can trust me with your life, you can trust us with your home," she says.
