Having a massive apartment is always lovely. However, most of us can't afford a large apartment with many luxury features. If you're stuck with a smaller apartment, here are four things that you can do to save yourself some space and feel less cluttered throughout the day:

Hang What You Can

It's crazy to think that most people live in homes that don't have a lot of objects hanging from the ceiling. There's all that vertical space at the top of rooms that so often goes unused. To save yourself some space in your tiny apartment, you should consider hanging things. Think about hanging your pans, coffee cups and cooking utensils over the kitchen counter. This allows easy access to these items without crowding your cupboard space.

Use a Foldable Bed

Cots are a thing of the past; the convenience was nice, but their comfort level was not. In the 21st century, the queen murphy bed is the new desirable folding bed. You can enjoy a solid bed frame that easily folds up into a cabinet. Most of these foldable beds come with tall cabinets on both sides of the bed area. This allows the bed to easily blend into the rest of the cabinet when it's in the closed position.

Utilize Corner Desks

Many small apartments have great corner areas that can be utilized. The problem is that most people don't have furniture that is designed for corner spaces. Head to your local furniture or office supply store and pick yourself up a tiny desk. Small, rectangular desks will fit well in the corners of your apartment while providing you enough room for a work space.

Purchase Exposed Leg Furniture

When you select furniture for your apartment, particularly a bed frame, opt for furniture that sits up off of the ground. Other than the exposed legs, you can enjoy the added storage space beneath the furniture. This area can be great for storing containers for various items that you don't need readily available to you on a daily basis.

Living in a small apartment comes with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest for many is the lack of extra storage space. By implementing the four tips that we shared above, you'll be well on your way to creating more storage space in your apartment!
